WINTER NEWSLETTER 2008
Despite the difficulties of the foot and mouth outbreak the walks have proceeded,
with some tweaking here and there, and in fact only two were cancelled. Thanks to
Chairman Brian and Walks Co-
THE BARN DANCE was held on Saturday 12th January at St.Peter’s Church Hall in Staines.
ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING THURSDAY, 13TH MARCH
This will be at 7.30 p.m. at the usual venue of the Methodist Church Hall, Thames Street (opposite Debenhams), in Staines. Do come as we need you there to elect a committee to carry on the running of the Club. We had a narrow squeak last year due to having no nominations for Chairman and Treasurer. We are more secure now but would welcome a nomination or two for new committee members. Tea and coffee will be available after the business of the meeting has been concluded.
SUBSCRIPTIONS
Subscriptions are due on 1st March and for your convenience, saving postage, these can be paid at the Annual General Meeting. The cost remains at £6 per person and a cheque made payable to Spelthorne Ramblers, rather than cash would be appreciated so the Treasurer doesn't go home loaded down!
COACH WALK BOURNEMOUTH/RINGWOOD SUNDAY 11TH MAY
Full details are in the Walks Programme. You can book for this at the Annual General Meeting, otherwise by post. Again, cheques would be appreciated, made out to Spelthorne Ramblers. Nonwalkers will spend time in Bournemouth.
HOLIDAYS 2009
We would like to air suggestions at the AGM for our two regular holidays a year-
Weekend: Corsham, walking in Wiltshire and the southern Cotswolds.
Julian Alps in Slovenia (31 st May to early June).
Week: Freshwater Bay, Isle of Wight with HF.
Loire Valley.
Please let us know in time for the meeting of any other ideas you might have.
